Indigenous Arts, Events and Culture The CoPP Indigenous Arts Unit was established in 1994 and was the first Victorian local government to create an identified Aboriginal position. The role celebrates its 10th year and continues to promote, produce and present high quality Aboriginal art and cultural events.

Aboriginal Land Management and Cultural Heritage We acknowledge the right of Indigenous Australians to live according to their own values and customs, subject to law and we commit ourselves to respecting Aboriginal sacred sites and significant places. The Council recognises the valuable contribution to the Port Phillip region made by Indigenous people and looks forward to a future of mutual respect and harmony.
Indigenous Forum The Indigenous Forum provides a formal mechanism allowing council staff and the community to inform and contribute to the development and review of council policies, programs and plans that impact on Aboriginal people.
Indigenous Vegetation Maintenance Maintenance of indigenous vegetation areas in partnership with local community groups.
Port Phillip Citizens for Reconciliation The Port Philiip Citizens for Reconciliation Inc are locally based community group that advocates and promotes social justice, rights and recognitions for and of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people ownerships and connection to this country.
