How to apply for Childcare in the City of Port Phillip

Council operates a central childcare waiting list for its Council-Managed Children's Centres and Home-Based Childcare (also known as Family Day Care). It is a centralised contact point for information related to enrolment for long day care (including kindergarten programs that operate within a long day care setting) and Home Based Childcare.

Council is currently in the process of merging Community Managed Childcare Centres and Council Managed services onto one centralised childcare waiting list system.

To register your child's details and requirements, please call 9209 6360.  We strongly advise families to visit services prior to registration, if possible.

Childcare places are offered and made in relation to the Federal Government Priority of Access Guidelines which all children's services are required to comply with.

In order to keep this centralised waiting list up to date, registered families will receive correspondence from Council at least twice a year. It is important that families respond to this information by the required date confirming details and/or where applicable request changes to registration details.

The centralised childcare waiting list aims to better help families' to access childcare.
