Household Chemical Disposal

New Service for Port Phillip Residents!

As of August 2009 Port Phillip Residents can now drop off paint, light bulbs/ fluorescent lamps and household batteries free of charge at the Port Phillip Resource Recovery Centre.  Please visits the Resource Recovery Centre page for details or call Waste Management on (03) 9209 6533.

Detox your Home Program

If your home has old or unwanted chemicals or other dangerous goods (aside from those accepted at the Resource Recovery Centre) that you would like to dispose of, take them along to Sustainability Victoria's FREE household chemical collection days.

What Can I Take to the Chemical Collection?

  • Fuels
  • Oils and engine fluids
  • Paints - oil and water based
  • Batteries
  • Gardening chemicals
  • Acids and alkalis (swimming pool chemicals)
  • Gas cylinders
  • Cleaning products
  • Other household products
