Heritage photographs in the Port Phillip City Collection
The heritage photograph collection includes over 3,600 catalogued items. This collection includes a large number of 19th and 20th century photographs of officials such as mayors, councillors and other VIPs from the three former cities of South Melbourne, Port Melbourne and St Kilda, and the current City of Port Phillip. The collection also includes extensive photographic material of the buildings, streetscapes, industries, landscapes, events and social-life of the area. Highlights of the collection include early football team photographs, events of national significance such as royal visits and works by famous photographers such as Charles Nettleton.
