Greeves Street, Streetscape Upgrade

Background

As part of an ongoing streetscape improvement program, Council will be undertaking a streetscape renewal project for Greeves Street in the 2011/ 2012 financial year. This is a holistic approach to respond to amenity and safety issues that have been associated with this particular site.

Concerns raised by residents include parking, street cleaning, litter, syringe waste, hard rubbish, lighting, safety, inadequate drainage and aesthetics within the streetscape; all of these topics have been discussed at length and the concept design created will provide solutions to most of these issues. The design of this project is a high priority for Council and the main objective of the Greeves Street Streetscape Upgrade Design is to improve the general living environment for all who live in, work in and visit St Kilda.

Community Consultation

The proposed concept design for the streetscape upgrade was presented to the community for feedback on 6 February 2012, with the opportunity to provide further feedback via a survey.  The survey has now closed.  Feedback from the community will be discussed with relevant parties before Council proceeds to detailed design.

The proposed concept plans for the Greeves Street, Streetscape Upgrade can be viewed below.
