City of Port Phillip Out and Proud for Pride March since the beginning

The City of Port Phillip provides a range of services and advice to assist the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Intersex (GLBTI) community. The council also works hard to provide our community with information on which to base its own thinking on these issues.

GLBTI Forum

The GLBTI forum is made up of members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex (GLBTI) communities living within the City of Port Phillip. It advises council on the development of policies and strategies to promote inclusiveness of GLBTI people in all areas of council activity.

The committee provides advice on:

  • The extent to which council services and programs are inclusive of the GLBTI community
  • Positive strategies to promote inclusiveness where this is required
  • Advocacy needed with other levels of government and/or the private sector in responding to the needs of the GLBTI community
  • Methods of effectively consulting with members of the GLBTI community
  • How the council can most effectively promote the social, cultural and economic interests of the GLBTI community

Pride March The Pride March is a public display of the courage, solidarity, pride and diversity of gay men, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people and their supporters.
Same Sex Attracted Youth As well as providing a range of services and advice to assist the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender, Intersex (GLBTI) community, the council works hard to provide our community with information on which to base its own thinking on these issues.
