Biography

Deputy Mayor Councillor Frank O'Connor has been a resident of Albert Park for more than 30 years and brings an extensive background of community involvement to his role as a Councillor. He also brings significant commercial and managerial experience having recently retired from a senior executive role in a financial services organisation where he had responsibility for information technology, property, human resources and governance.

He served as Mayor for the first two years of the current Council term and also spent seven years on the former South Melbourne Council with two terms as Mayor. He is currently Chairman of Napier Street Aged Care Services and a Director of Inner South Community Health Service Ltd and the Port Phillip Housing Association Ltd and has been involved with many other local organisations over the years.

Frank decided to stand for Council again to address what he saw as shortcomings in the way community engagement happened and to contribute his wide experience to the many governance issues that the City of Port Phillip faced.
