Recycle Your Unwanted Electronic Goods at the Port Phillip Transfer Station
Port Phillip is proud to now offer its residents an opportunity to recycle their unwanted electronic goods at the South Melbourne Resource Recovery Centre. The City of Port Phillip is now accepting unwanted electronic goods for recycling into new products.
The new service is free of charge to residents and will accept the following materials:
- Televisions
- All computer associated parts (including CPUs, mice, keyboards, cables)
- Computer monitors
- Laptop computers
- Printers
- Scanners
- Fax machines
- Mobile phones
- Photocopiers
- Vacuum Cleaners
- Small Domestic Appliances (Kettles, HIFIs, Irons, Juicers, Microwaves)
- Workshop tools (Electric Saws and Drills)
- Household Batteries
** Mobile phones and household batteries are now also accepted for recycling via drop off points at all three Port Phillip town halls. Simply drop unwanted batteries or mobile phones in the clear tubes located at the town hall reception areas.
This service is yet another important step towards a 'Zero Waste' community. It will ensure that Port Phillip dramatically reduces the amount of potentially hazards, electronic wastes going to landfill.
