Watch Out For The Extended Community Bus

The FREE Community Bus Service now services all Port Phillip neighbourhoods, connecting Port Melbourne with St Kilda. Elwood, St Kilda West, St Kilda East, Ripponlea, South Melbourne, Middle Park, Albert Park, Garden City and Port Melbourne areas are covered along 5 routes, by two buses continually looping throughout the day.

Both buses are wheelchair accessible, allowing many who cannot access existing public transport services in the City of Port Phillip to be able to move around the city. The Service operates Monday - Friday, excluding public holidays.

The service was reviewed and extended following consultation with the community during 2007/08. The extended service was launched May 2008 and commenced June 2008. Routes start and finish at either the South Melbourne Market or the St Kilda Library, opposite the St Kilda Town Hall. The Service is designed to enhance the existing South Melbourne Market bus service and complement existing transport services.

The South Melbourne Market Bus Service will continue to operate on market days only.

Please note that our timetable and existing routes have been altered to allow for supporting passengers on and off the bus. Old timetables (square in shape) will no longer be valid.
