Clean Up Australia Day

Every year hundreds of thousands of Australians help clean up their local environment on Clean Up Australia Day. It's fun, easy and everyone can take part. Individuals and local groups can either organise a Clean Up site or volunteer to join an existing site. The day is firmly entrenched in the Australian calendar. It is an apolitical, non-profit community campaign in which everyone can participate. Clean Up Australia Day has successfully grown each year to make this community event the largest annual environmental campaign in Australia.  Each year over 6000 sites across the country participate in the campaign, helping remove a staggering 7000 tones of rubbish!

For the 2011 Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday March 6, the City of Port Phillip has joined forces with the newly developed Port Phillip Clean Beaches Coalition and will be holding several beach clean events to assist in the massive effort to keep Port Phillip Bay beautiful. Please visit Clean Up Australia to register or just meet at one of the following locations at 9am;

Elwood Beach – Elwood Life Saving Club

St.Kilda Beach – Opposite Blessington Street

West Beach – St.Kilda Pier

Middle Park Beach – Opposite Langridge Beach

Port Melbourne Beach – Princes Street

Sandridge Beach / Webb Dock – Sandridge Life Saving Club
