Busking is defined as playing a musical instrument and/or singing, conjuring, juggling, mime, mimicry, dance, puppetry, performance art, recitation and other appropriate theatrical and visual forms.

Busking is a popular occurrence in many of Port Phillip's tourist areas. Buskers need to have a council permit to busk in Port Phillip.

To apply for a busking permit, complete the 5 seconds download via 56K modemBusking Application Form August 2008and return to the Busking Permit Officer at the City of Port Phillip, Private Bag 3, St Kilda 3182 or contact the Busking Permit Officer for an appointment. 

A fee of $50.00 applies for a three month permit on gaining approval for your busking activity and providing three passport-type photos.
