Busking in Port Phillip
Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities; whether it be with a musical instrument and/or singing, conjuring, juggling, mime, mimicry, dance, puppetry, performance art, recitation and other appropriate theatrical and visual forms.
Busking is a popular occurrence in many of Port Phillip's tourist areas. Buskers need to have a council permit to busk in Port Phillip.
A fee of $57.00 applies for a three month permit.
Application process
1. Read the Busking Guidelines form to determine your eligibility
2. Complete a Busking Application Form (To save added information on this form ,please save file under a different name.)
3. Organise an interview with the Events Adviser ph: 9209 6355 or email eventpermits@portphillip.vic.gov.au
4. Bring the following to the interview:
- The completed application form, and
- Payment, and
- 2 passport sized photos and
- Proof of identity (eg Drivers Licence)
