Five bands took part on the day, three in the battle of the bands Port Phillip heat and the other two co-headlined the day.

The Competition was fierce with all battle bands putting on stellar performances but there could be only one winner. The winner of the Port Phillip Heat was The Cosmonauts.

Battle of the Bands - a great opportunity for young bandsThe Cosmonauts are a four piece rock band hailing from Wesley College. With a mixture of tight cover songs, self penned numbers and a spirited stage performance they won over the judges. Check them out The Cosmonauts

The two other bands were great on the day with Dark Seraph, a metal band, providing the crowd with a powerful performance, whilst Pepper Jack gently soothed the audience with some well crafted mellow rock. A truly a eclectic assortment of bands proving that live music is alive and well in Port Phillip.

"   The mix of music genres was the best aspect for me, it has become a standard for a battle to only have bands of the same type of music which I believe is contra to the idea of a battle of the bands. Everyone participating in the event was organised and the day ran smoothly". (Leon, FReeZA committee)

Battle of the Bands crowd dancingShowcard and Peyote co-headlined the day with both bands providing energetic and ostentatious performances. These two bands provided the perfecting ending to what was a very exciting day. Check these guys out.

Showcard

"The event was good, because it allowed new bands to get in front of an audience, gain experience, have fun and also build their confidence". (Dean, The Cosmonauts)

" It was huge, a great first gig". (Stacey, Dark Seraph)
