Fitzroy Street Public Toilet

The City of Port Phillip’s Public Toilet Strategy 2007 – 2011 identified five priority sites or precincts where new public toilets are to be constructed over the five years of the strategy. The number one priority listed in this strategy was a toilet for Fitzroy Street St Kilda.

In December 2009, Council adopted the Fitzroy Street Streetscape Plan.

In it, five locations were identified for a possible future public toilet for this precinct. These are;
• Corner Park St and Fitzroy St
• Shop front – south western end Fitzroy St
• Corner Jackson St and Fitzroy St
• Shop front – Grey St
• Corner Canterbury Rd and Fitzroy St

These five possible site locations are shown on the site location plan for the Fitzroy Street Toilet.

A Council meeting was held on Monday 22nd February 2010, a decision was made to endorse the preferred location for the new public toilet for the Fitzroy Street precinct at the corner of Jackson Street and Fitzroy Street,  St Kilda.
