Relocation of Hobson’s Bay Dog Obedience Club

Hobson’s Bay Obedience Dog Club (HBODC) is a not-for-profit club staffed and administered by volunteers. HBODC have been providing dog obedience training services to the Port Melbourne local community at Murphy Reserve since 1961.  Due to an increase in the use of the Council Depot for Council’s Parks Maintenance Contractors in mid to late 2011 and future plans for the development of a wetland system in Murphy Reserve, Council needs to relocate HBODC’s clubrooms and training grounds to Garden City Reserve.

The City of Port Phillip is working closely with several of the key stakeholders involved in the relocation of Hobson’s Bay Obedience Dog Club (HBODC) to ensure a smooth transition when HBODC is relocated in mid/late 2011.  We are working toward having minimum impact on HBODC, the current user groups and the local community.

We will be providing the local community with regular updates on the progress of the relocation through mail outs, notices on site and regular updates of the website. We will endeavour to provide as much information as possible and provide a more comprehensive and transparent community engagement process.

Responsible dog ownership is a high priority for the City of Port Phillip and we recognise the valuable service that the club provides to the community in promoting and facilitating responsible dog ownership.

If you have any questions about the process or would like to add your feedback, please contact Julia Mardjuki, Parks Planner.
